Next month, two new cool gaming input devices, a mouse and a keyboard, will be released from two different companies.
You might say ok, what’s wrong with my current setup?
Well, take a look to the videos below and you will understand that they aren’t as common as the others.
This is a common question, usually done by someone that is waiting for you to come to him/her. Now it’s easy to be answered through internet if you own a mobile phone with GPS receiver:
You only need a mobile phone with a data plan (for example GPRS or UMTS). You also need a GPS receiver (as a seperate device or builtin). trackr! currently works on the following mobile phone types:
Windows Mobile 5 and 6 (PocketPC and Smartphone).
Java phones with support for MIDP2.0 (Nokia E50, N73, N95, Sony Ericsson C702, etc.).
Blackberry
With trackr! you can…
share your current location and track history with your friends
see on your mobile phone or on the trackr! website where your friends are
view what tracks you or your friends have traveled: distance, average speed, etc.
receive a warning when someone enters and/or leaves a certain area (geo-fencing)
Put photos on the map next to your track exactly where you shot them.
Automatically send updates to your Twitter and Hyves accounts as soon as you are online.
include a map with your current position on your own website/blog
use the Quick Access Code to immediately show others where you are at that moment, without requiring them to create trackr! account
Check out some screenshots.
trackr! is FREE for personal use.
My username there is Saxtus, so if you know me in real life, register yourself at trackr!, request friendship and I might allow you to see my whereabouts!
I was seeking for a utility that can imitate the Windows Vista search functionality that is embedded in “Start Menu” and I came across a wonderful and light program that is called Launchy.
It keeps hidded until it’s needed. Alt-Spacebar is the default key combination to bring it up but can be changed if it conflicts with something else. Launchy can index just the “Start Menu” or all the files on your disk (or the file types you specify). You bring it up, start typing and will tell you what will find, highlight what you want and press Enter. That’s it! If you want to supply command line parameters, press TAB before ENTER and type the parameters.
It can be told to re-index automatically every X minutes but I have disabled that as I use it only for Start Menu and re-indexing is two clicks away anyway! It has it’s own plug-in system to extend functionality but unil now, I haven’t find something interesting. It also has different skins to choose to.
Go get it now, it’s open-source and completely free!
Automatically import show, season and episode data
Check for new episodes on the fly (this works excellent after you import the current season and delete some garbage episodes that downloaded from epguides.com due to a bug at the importer I guess, fortunately it remembers what you’ve deleted)
Get news for your favorite TVShows (although I never use it, it’s good to be there)
If you need subtitles, you can keep track of them too! (i.e. you flag an episode as “subtitled” because you managed to download the subtitles needed, myTVShows doesn’t host or help find subtitles for you)
Rate your shows and episodes (the old known 5-star system)
Share with others (can be turned off) what series you track and what episodes you’ve seen
Archive entire tv shows that you don’t currently watch so they won’t get in the way, without loosing your episode progress
I was using http://www.sidereel.com/ before I learn about this site. SideReel’s weakness was that is user-powered (like a tv shows wiki) and most series info was inaccurate or missing. It also did not let you choose what episodes you’ve seen, only to mark the last episode you’ve seen, implying that you watched all the previous episodes. The greatness of myTVShows is that it uses epguides.com as it’s source and is always accurate and up-to-date.
Can anyone explain to me why:
- There is no reference to the song “If You Hold My Hand” that is remixed by Sonny J?
- There is no reference to the singer of the song?
- There is no reference to the star of the video clip?
DJs aren’t they suppose to give credit where credit is due?
Who kills the music now? Piracy again?
Being married to a smoker will significantly raise your risk of stroke, even if you don’t smoke yourself, say researchers.
The Harvard University team looked at records of more than 16,000 people.
The American Journal of Preventative Medicine study found the risk rose by up to 72% for some non-smokers.
The stroke dangers to smokers are well known, but there are fewer studies which have explored the risk from passive smoking.
Since the introduction of smoking bans in public places across the UK, the home is now the most likely place for non-smokers to breathe second-hand smoke.
The Harvard study looked at people aged over 50, and their spouses, over a period of, on average, just over nine years.
After the results were adjusted for other factors which could influence stroke risk, non-smokers living in the same house as a smoker were found to be at far greater risk of stroke.
The health benefits of quitting smoking likely extend beyond individual smokers to affect their spouses
Extremely sad news as this was the only high quality free video storage that I knew of. The bright side is that Adobe Flash player released a new version that supports H.264 codec, which is better than DivX’s but now we have to seek a site that is willing to host such videos.
I’m Tom (aka Spinner), a Stage6 user and an employee of DivX, Inc., the company behind the service. I’m writing this message today to inform you that we plan to shut down Stage6 on February 28, 2008. Upload functionality has already been turned off, and you’ll be able to view and download videos until Thursday.
So why are we shutting the service down? Well, the short answer is that the continued operation of Stage6 is a very expensive enterprise that requires an enormous amount of attention and resources that we are not in a position to continue to provide. There are a lot of other details involved, but at the end of the day it’s really as simple as that.
There should always be something, that makes you smile. I have collected some beautiful pictures of baby animals, which always make me smile, when I look at them. I would like to share these cute images with you. Enjoy and smile.
In “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” (focusing on events immediately following the second film), Sarah (Lena Headey) and John Connor (Thomas Dekker) have spent two years on the run, doing what they can to stay alive. Faced with the reality that they are the only ones who know what the future will bring, they stop running and refocuse their efforts to prevent the birth of SkyNet and the coming of Judgment Day. They set up shop in California and soon realize that one of John’s new classmates Cameron (Summer Glau of “Firefly” & “Serenity“), isn’t exactly the girl next door
- A fresh spin on an old franchise in need of new blood and story lines
- More information about what happens to the Connors after the second movie now that the third movie has been declared to be non-canon
- Additional information about the future world and the evil SkyNet
- Possible flashbacks for a different look at familiar events
